Africa-Press – Mozambique. A large fire destroyed a storage park belonging to the company Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM) in Pemba, Cabo Delgado province, on Tuesday. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
According to witnesses, the fire started at around 9:00 a.m., and the situation still had not been brought under control by 12:00 p.m..
The incident occurred just 100 metres from the SENSAP (firefighters) department, and the firefighters from the corporation were the first to arrive at the scene. However, they were unable to control the flames, so they called in reinforcements from the Mozambique Airports firefighters. In the end, the firefighters from the Mozambique Ports and Railways (CFM) were also called. Even so, the fire destroyed almost everything in the location.
