Africa-Press – Mozambique. The National Inspection of Economic Activities (INAE) has ordered the immediate withdrawal of all ‘Kinder Surprise’ chocolate products from the market, after confirming their contamination with the harmful bacterium, salmonella.
According to an INAE statement, the decision was taken after Belgian company Ferrero recalled 20-gram chocolates and three-pack ‘Easter eggs’ with expiry dates between July 11 and October 7, 2022.
Ingesting salmonella can cause health problems such as diarrhoea, stomach pains, vomiting, fever, loss of appetite and weight loss.
The INAE has cautioned all economic agents to declare the existence of any Kinder products with the referred dates to the inspecting entities.
“Consumers are requested to report the marketing of products affected by the measure, through the complaint line of the INAE,” the institution adds, advising all citizens who have purchased the chocolate in question to declare them immediately to the competent authorities.
