Africa-Press – Mozambique. The Parliamentary Leadership Forum, themed “Energy Transition and the Oil and Gas Economy in the Southern African Development Community”, kicks off today through Thursday in Maputo.
The event is organized by Mozambique’s Assembly of the Republic and is attended by member countries of the SADC Parliamentary Forum, PROPAZ, the Institute for Multiparty Democracy, and Southern Africa Resource Watch (SARW).
SARW writes:
“This July, parliamentarians, energy experts, civil society, academics, and representatives from the African Union, the Pan-African Parliament, the SADC and the African Development Bank gather in Maputo to explore how Southern Africa’s oil & gas economies can transition towards cleaner, fairer, and climate-resilient futures.
“Co-hosted by the Southern Africa Resource Watch (SARW), the SADC and the Parliament of Mozambique, the dialogue will unpack the future of coal, oil, and gas markets, climate diplomacy, and parliament’s role ahead of COP30.”
