Africa-Press – Mozambique. The Secretary of State for Cabo Delgado, António Supeia, yesterday handed over, in the city of Pemba, an ambulance boat and two mobile clinics acquired by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the UK for the districts of Ibo and Metuge.
The marine ambulance, according to Supeia, is equipped for both evacuation and health care, especially for childbirth complications.
The mobile clinics are also equipped to perform surgeries, in addition to providing other types of assistance.
Supeia noted that the equipment is part of the UNFPA and UK support package aimed at improving health care in communities.
The Ibo and Metuge districts currently host large numbers of people displaced by terrorist activity.
