Africa-Press – Mozambique. More than 136,000 Mozambicans in South Africa were registered in the first three weeks of the voter registration process, in preparation for the elections on October 9th.

The provinces of Limpopo, Mpumalanga, and Gauteng continue to have the highest number of registered Mozambicans.

By the 28th of next month, it is expected that more than 200,000 Mozambicans of voting age will be registered in South Africa.

During a visit to Thembisa and Davyton this Saturday, our reporting witnessed a significant turnout of potential voters at the registration centers.

Judging by the level of turnout of potential voters, the Consul General of Mozambique in Johannesburg, Guilherme Tamele, expressed confidence that the provinces of Gauteng, North West, and Free State will meet and even surpass the established target:

In the Johannesburg jurisdiction, there are 57 registration centers, supported by 171 brigades.

Mozambique’s Ambassador to South Africa, Maria Manuela Lucas, visited the registration centers in Thembisa and Davyton this Saturday.
