Africa-Press – Mozambique. The Brazilian Federal Police on Thursday arrested a Mozambican man attempting to board a flight to Maputo from Rio de Janeiro International Airport with about five kilograms of cocaine, the corporation announced on Friday.
The drug was hidden in eight “7-day candles”*, Globo and Band News report.

“The passenger, of Mozambican nationality, was trying to board to Maputo, Mozambique, in a flight with connection in Lisbon (Portugal), when he was surprised by the Federal Police,” the Brazilian authorities detailed in a statement.
The detainee, along with the seized drug, was taken to the Superintendence of the Federal Police in Rio de Janeiro to formalize the arrest report and will go from there into the prison system, according to the corporation.
The Mozambican citizen will now be at the disposal of the Brazilian Federal Court and will be liable for the crime of international drug trafficking, for which the penalty can be up to 15 years in prison.
