Mozambique: 45 cases of suicide recorded in Gaza so far this year

Africa-Press – Mozambique. The governor of Gaza, Margarida Mapandzene Chongo, has vehemently condemned an alarming increase in the number of suicides in the province.

Figures from the Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) indicate that, from January to date, the province has registered 45 cases, most of them teenagers and young people.

Among the causes, the police indicate matters of passion, social differences and the high cost of living.

The Head of the Executive Council of Gaza says that nothing justifies people taking their own lives, and advocates greater dialogue within families and among social groups.
