Africa-Press – Mozambique. The Mozambican Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Maria Manuela dos Santos Lucas, and the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, have expressed the desire of both parties to strengthen ties of friendship and cooperation between them.
The desire was expressed in a working meeting that took place on Monday (28-04) at the EU headquarters in Brussels, during which the two leaders reviewed the relations of friendship and cooperation between Mozambique and the European Union, as well as exchanging views on strengthening their bilateral partnership in the political and diplomatic fields.
“Minister Maria Manuela Lucas’ meetings were not limited to High Representative Kallas, but also included the Vice-President of the European Parliament, Younous Omarjee,” reads a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
The foreign minister’s agenda includes meetings with the European Commissioner for International Partnerships, Jozef Sikela; the European Commissioner for Crisis Preparedness and Management, Hadja Lahbib; the Secretary-General of the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), Moussa Saleh Batraki; the Head of the European Union Election Observation Mission for the 2024 General Elections in Mozambique, Laura Ballarin Cereza; and parliamentarians from the European Union’s Political and Security Committee (COPS).
