Africa-PressMozambique. Former President of the Republic, Armando Emílio Guebuza, has been present in court all day today to witness the hearing of his son, Armando Ndambi Guebuza.

Ndambi Guebuza stands accused of four crimes in the controversial ‘hidden debts’ case, namely, association to delinquency, breach of trust, forgery of documents and passive corruption.

The court session should have started at 10:00 a.m.,with all present but the judge and representative of Public Prosecutor’s Office in the tent hosting the courtroom. The trial started one hour late. No explanation was provided for the delay.

Ndambi Guebuza’s defence attorney, Alexandre Chivale, said, even before the session began, that the defendant being heard today is not in good health, but without specifying what ailment he was suffering from.

“He felt bad, and the doctor was called. He’s already medicated, and I think he’s in a position to move forward. Let’s see what happens,” said Chivale, adding that he was comfortable with his client being heard.
