Africa-Press – Mozambique. The prime minister of Mozambique, Carlos Agostinho do Rosário, on Thursday, said in the Mozambican Parliament that the government is committed to improving the financial management of the state by intensifying supervision and control.
“We are aware of the need to continue working on the improvement of the state’s financial management,” Rosário said.
He was speaking at the end of the debate on the general state account for 2020.
The government, he said, is determined to impose corrective measures and implement actions for the effective management of public affairs.
“We also reaffirm that we will continue to strengthen supervision and internal control at all levels, intensifying regular inspections to correct possible irregularities in management systems,” he said.
The Mozambican prime minister said that the government would demand strict compliance with legislation on public procurement and supervision and control mechanisms.
Improving accounting, inventory and management processes of state assets are also priorities in improving the administration of public resources, Rosário added.
Rosário reiterated the commitment to prevent and combat corruption, mobilising public servants to follow the principles of good management carefully.
