Africa-PressMozambique. The eldest son of the president of the Business Confederation of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CE-CPLP), Mozambican Salimo Abdula, was kidnapped, a family source confirmed on Friday (October 15), in statements to Lusa.

On the occasion, the same source also indicated that there had not yet been any contacts or communications, without providing further details.

According to information provided by the Mozambican press, Jair Abdula was abducted on Thursday night, in the city of Benoni, in South Africa.

Contacted by Lusa, a source at the Gauteng provincial command of the South African Police (SAPS) said that the corporation had been informed on Thursday night, and declined to provide further details.

The victim is the eldest son of Salimo Abdula, a prominent Mozambican businessman who founded the Intelec Holdings Group and who was president of the Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique (CTA) and chair of the board of directors of Vodacom, the mobile operator with the largest market share in Mozambique .
