Africa-Press – Mozambique. The National Institute of Meteorology (INAM) predicts a warmer winter throughout the country, a result that may be associated with the dynamics of the atmosphere as well as climate change. Nights in June, July and August may be a little warmer, with temperatures above 25 degrees Celsius.

Climate researcher area at INAM, Luís Chongue, points out that, despite this forecast, on some days there may be a sharp drop in temperature, requiring the use of warm clothing.

He mentions that, in recent years, the country has been registering a decline in low temperatures due to atmospheric dynamics. For example, 2024 was the hottest year in half a century.

In turn, meteorologist Célio Matuele warned that, although the forecast points to a less severe winter, there is still a risk of seasonal illnesses such as respiratory infections, which is why warm clothing should be worn during the day.

At the same time, he recommended eating foods that strengthen the body’s defence mechanisms: “It is important for people to exercise, as it improves blood circulation,” Matuele says.
