Africa-Press – Mozambique. The President of the Republic, Daniel Chapo, is presiding this morning at the Presidency of the Republic over the swearing-in ceremony of four members of the Council of State.

These are Lúcia Ribeiro, President of the Constitutional Council, who assumes the position by virtue of her office; former Presidents of the Assembly of the Republic (Parliament Speakers) Eduardo Mulémbwè and Verónica Macamo, in their capacity as former holders of sovereign offices; and Alcinda de Abreu, elected by the Assembly of the Republic.

A statement from the Presidency of the Republic highlights that the ceremony represents a moment of reaffirmation of the institutional commitment to good governance and the country’s stability, while ensuring the contribution of experienced figures to the President’s consultative political body, thereby strengthening the quality of state decision-making for the benefit of the nation and the public interest.
