Africa-PressMozambique. Gastronomy, visual arts and music will represent Mozambique at the 13th Cultural Week of China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries, an event promoted by the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Commercial Cooperation between China and the CPLP.

The Mozambique delegation will be represented by executive chef Jossias Jossefa Mutimucuio, from Gaza province, who will present typical national dishes. An exhibition entitled “Different Encounters” by visual artist José Estevão from Maputo represents the social environment in Mozambique, while Banda Mazu, a young musical group from Zambézia, will play typical Mozambican music and Afro-jazz rhythms.

The China Cultural Week, which takes place in Macau, aims to unite people through arts and culture, and showcases the rich diversity of China and the CPLP countries.

This edition will have a strong digital component, with artists presenting their works of art and cultural identity via video.

The event will take place from 3rd to 20th September, and is coordinated nationally by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Due to Covid-19, the event will, for the first time, be in hybrid format, the online component allowing greater coverage of the event and access to a wide audience.

The CPLP member states are Brazil, Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Portugal, Sao Tome and Principe, and East Timor.
