Africa-Press – Mozambique. Cine-Teatro Scala in Maputo will screen the Samora Machel Cinema Cycle at 6:00 p.m. from the 19th to 23rd of September.

The Samora Machel Foundation initiative forms part of the Samora Machel 90th birthday celebrations: “the leader, the man, the husband, the father, the family member, the friend, who is no longer with us , but only physically”.

The programme includes five films: “Nachingueia”, “Independent Mozambique”, “10 Days in the Liberated Zones”, “Offensive” and “June 25th, The Party 10 Years Later”. Entry is free.

“Nachingwea” will be shown at the opening on Tuesday, September 19th, and “June 25th, A Party 10 Years later” will close the cycle on Saturday, September 23rd.

According to the press release sent to Moz Entretenimento, the Samora Machel Foundation intends to show these archive films in cinemas, schools and social centres in provincial capitals around the country, as part of the celebration of Samora Machel’s 90th birthday.

“We want to pass on a testimony to new generations so that they know when and how, there is still so little historical time. We want to be the masters of our destiny, as Samora taught us,” the Foundation says.
