Africa-Press – Namibia. THE Office of the President has scheduled consultation meetings on the National Upstream Petroleum Local Content Policy to take place in all fourteen regions from 1 to 17 September.
During the consultation meetings, the policy, which was approved by Cabinet last year, will be presented to participants, giving the public an opportunity to engage and share feedback.
The consultation meetings are part of the Office of the President’s commitment to ensuring that Namibian businesses and individuals are fully integrated into the oil and gas value chain and that local benefits are maximised.
Namibia is on track for oil production by the year 2029.
Members of the business community, the youth, local authorities, and all other relevant stakeholders are invited to attend the gatherings in their respective regions.
The first engagement will take place in Lüderitz on Monday, followed by Keetmanshoop and Mariental on 3 and 5 September, respectively.
Consultations in Gobabis, Opuwo, and Rundu will take place on 8 September.
Three separate consultative meetings will take place on 10 September in Otjiwarongo, Outapi, and Nkurenkuru.
In Swakopmund, Oshakati, and Katima Mulilo, the consultations will take place on 12 September, followed by Eenhana and Omuthiya on 15 and 17 September, respectively.
