Africa-Press – Namibia. THE Prime Minister, Dr Tjitunga Elijah Ngurare, officially launched the National School Rehabilitation Campaign this week at Mukuvi Primary School in the Kavango East Region.

According to the Office of the Prime Minister, the initiative aims to refurbish dilapidated school infrastructure across all 121 constituencies in Namibia, drawing on the expertise of unemployed graduates from Vocational Training Centres (VTCs), along with skilled members of local communities.

“The campaign’s objective is to ensure that all schools in Namibia are equipped with proper infrastructure, including functioning ablution facilities, laboratories, and other essential utilities. This is part of a broader vision to create a conducive learning environment that supports national education goals,” the Office of the Prime Minister said.

During his address, the Prime Minister highlighted the potential of Namibia’s vocational and technical graduates, emphasising their readiness to contribute meaningfully to national development. He urged the government and relevant stakeholders to tap into this valuable, underutilised human resource.

Ngurare also clarified that the campaign is not politically motivated, but rather a decisive move towards building inclusive and dignified learning spaces for all Namibian children.
