Africa-Press – Namibia. Shotokan Karate Academy – JSKA Namibia recently attended the JSKA World Karate Championships at the Budokan Ehime in Matsuyama, Japan.
The competition was strong, and medals had to be earned on every floor, as the high standard was world-class, with some categories having up to 28 athletes.
Of the 17 JSKA Namibia athletes taking part, 10 managed to bring back 18 medals: 5 Gold, 7 Silver, and 6 Bronze. All athletes competed in kata and kumite according to age and belt.
The team, which was selected at the Swakop Open in March 2025, spent months preparing and training to ensure success.
The team showed once again that our athletes can actively compete with the rest of the world and placed Namibia on the global map once more, reminding others of our beautiful country, our talent, and our growing presence in international sports.
