Africa-Press – Namibia. THE Ministry of Education is expected to construct a state-of-the-art Resource School at Kamanjab in the Kunene Region.

In a speech read on behalf of President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare said the government has placed access to inclusive, quality education at the heart of the development vision.

Nandi-Ndaitwah made the remarks during the groundbreaking ceremony held on Saturday, saying this includes a deliberate commitment to ensure that no child is left behind, regardless of ability, location, or circumstance.

In 2022, Nandi-Ndaitwah indicated that the National Conference on Education compelled them to renew their priorities. One of its key outcomes was the recognition that their education infrastructure must evolve to meet the needs of all learners.

She noted that what followed was a bold, multi-year initiative led by the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture—a national drive to strengthen education infrastructure from 2023 to 2030, with a specific focus on inclusive access across all fourteen regions.

“This government does not simply build schools. We build the future. We act with purpose so that every child, regardless of the challenges they may face, finds their place in the Namibian house,” she said.

She added that as they turn this soil, they recommit, not just to infrastructure, but to equity, inclusion, and justice.

The President stressed that they should move forward with resolve and ensure that this project becomes a model for how public investment can touch lives where it matters most.

Speaking at the same occasion, Minister of Education Sanet Steenkamp indicated that this school is not just a structure; it is a statement.

“We are not only building walls; we are restoring equity, one classroom, one child, one future at a time,” she said.

She explained that in governance, there are decisions they make from data, and decisions they make from conscience.

Steenkamp stressed that this school was born of both. They are a nation that has placed inclusive education not just in their plans, but in their values. But values must walk. Values must break ground. Values must show up in budgets, in blueprints, in buildings.
