Africa-Press – Namibia. THE Namibia Water Corporation (NamWater) is conducting technical tests and installation of a bypass pipeline at the Okahandja East Reservoir, which could result in possible water interruptions in the town between today and 11 May.
Marco Bernhardt, NamWater’s Acting Operations Manager, explained that the technical tests and installation of the bypass pipeline at the Okahandja East Reservoir have the potential to cause pipe breaks due to high pressure in the system, potentially affecting water supply in the town.
“However, we do not foresee that this will have a big impact on water supply to the town as there are plans put in place to reduce the risks associated with high pressure on the bypass line,” Bernhardt assured.
Nevertheless, he advised residents to prepare accordingly for any potential water interruptions.
“We will do our utmost best to avoid the worst-case scenarios, and our operations and maintenance teams are on standby to respond to any emergencies,” Bernhardt added.
