Africa-Press – Namibia. Ncuncuni constituency’s independent candidate Michael Naiteta said he will bring development to all despite the presence of different political affiliations in the constituency.

Naiteta is the headman of Gcwatjinga village.

He said he is not seeking a job, as he is employed as a project coordinator at the Rundu Vocational Training Centre.

He noted that what prompted him to stand is the lack of development in Ncuncuni, situated in the Kavango West region.

“I am representing people who wants to see development in the constituency. I’m not standing for a particular party’s interest but for people who have long waited to see development and growth,’’ he said during his campaign launch on Saturday at Ncuncuni village.

“I want to focus on ensuring that inhabitants of this constituency get national documents, as many are without them as we speak. Many children and adults don’t have documents. Elders are supposed to benefit from government services. Orphans and vulnerable children are not getting grants due to lack of documentations, and so are pensioners,’’ he noted.

The independent candidate told his supporters and those present that he intends to focus on water provisions.

He further promised to ensure that many learners who walk long distances to school will no longer need to because he will ensure through his office that hostels are built to accommodate them, as their safety has been a concern all along. “Let’s go home and tell everyone, including the youth, that there will be elections in November.

All eligible voters in Ncuncuni must participate to bring change and development to our constituency. Let them know that I will bring the change they have always been longing for,’’ he said.

Two other candidates are running for office in Ncuncuni, namely Nseu Leopoldine for Swapo and Elizabeth Muronga for IPC.
