Africa-Press – Namibia. National Unity Democratic (NUDO) candidate for the Windhoek Local Authority election, Percy Kapukare is targeting land and housing provision for the youth, and the expansion of Windhoek borders for smart development.

Kapukare is contesting the local authority in the upcoming regional councils and local authority elections, slated for next week Wednesday. In an interview with New Era this week, Kapukare emphasised that this election cycle marks significant moment in Nudo’s history, as it embarks on a robust campaign characterised by increased visibility and public engagement. He said the party’s strategic focus is on fielding young leaders across various local authorities and regional elections this year. “Nudo has witnessed a notable turnaround which is infused with new energy and enthusiasm. There is a palpable sense of optimism within the party, and supporters are responding positively,” he said.

Kapukare assured that he is going to serve the nation and steer it towards a promising future, whilst advocating for positive change and progress in Namibia. Nudo garnered 1455 votes in the last local authority elections in 2020, obtaining one seat. Joseph Uapingene represented the party as council member. Swapo party got 20 250 votes and obtain five seats, Independent Patriots for Change obtained 14 028 votes which is four seats, while the Affirmative Reposition Party got 8 501 votes which is two seats.

Landless People’s Movement got 7 365 votes which translated in two seats, while Popular Democratic Movement obtained 5 411 which is one seat.
