Omusati motorists warned against blocked roads

Africa-PressNamibia. THE Namibian Police in the Omusati Region is urging road users to be extremely vigilant especially when travelling after sunset. The cautionary advise follows an incident in which unknown persons used rocks to block off the Outapi-Onandjaba main road, and possibly cause accidents.

Omusati police boss, Commissioner Titus Shikongo, said that the malicious and dangerous act was observed at the Omwandiwolukula village in the Okalongo constituency.

“It can result in the loss of lives because this is a highway where vehicles drive at high speed. Visibility is also limited during the night,” he said.

He further warned those behind the act to cease forthwith, or risk getting caught as the police will employ resources as its disposal to arrest the perpetrators of such acts. Shikongo also promised to address the matter during community meetings.
