Africa-Press – Namibia. THE Ministry of Sport, Youth and National Services has announced the immediate closure of the Oshakati Independence Stadium for rehabilitation.
“The anticipated rehabilitation of the pitch (lawn) and the upcoming 2024 National Youth Games, scheduled to take place in Oshakati, Oshana Region, from 11 to 15 September 2024, necessitate the closure,” the ministry explained.
The Sports Ministry added that the stadium will therefore be unavailable for use until 31 August 2024.
“The Ministry of Sport, Youth and National Services sincerely apologises for the inconvenience this closure may cause. Your understanding and cooperation are highly appreciated,” the ministry said.
