The Oshana Regional Council has reaffirmed its commitment to improving the lives of its residents by allocating N$800 000 for the construction of 10 houses for low-income earners at Eheke Settlement Area.

This is done under the Build-Together Programme (BTP).

The initiative forms part of the council’s ongoing efforts to ensure access to decent housing and promote inclusive community development. It also supports the government’s vision of delivering serviced land and affordable shelter to all Namibians.

To date, the council has successfully allocated 209 residential plots and 21 business plots at Eheke Settlement Area, paving the way for sustainable development and local economic growth.

Senior Public Relations Officer at the council, Nuusita Ashipala, said the project demonstrates the region’s dedication to uplifting communities.

“The Build-Together Programme remains a vital tool in addressing the housing backlog, especially for low and middle-income earners. As a regional government, we are proud to be part of the national effort to ensure that every Namibian has access to a decent home,” Ashipala said.

She further encouraged residents who have already been allocated plots to start building their houses.

“We urge beneficiaries to begin construction to speed up development in the Eheke Settlement Area,” she added.

The council is currently finalising administrative preparations before implementation begins. With this initiative, the Oshana Regional Council continues to turn the dream of home ownership into reality-one house at a time.
