“A key highlight of the programme was the official launch of the Namibia Grape Company’s Staff Housing Project, funded through the company’s Social Responsibility Fund. Implemented by the NYS Production Unit, the project underscores Namibia Grape Company’s commitment to enhancing employee welfare and ensuring that staff members benefit directly from the company’s growth and progress,” the National Youth Service added.

Speaking at the launch of the new employee housing units, the President highlighted the critical importance of employee welfare, stressing that businesses prosper when workers are valued and supported. She noted that employment should represent more than a source of income — it should be a dignified opportunity that uplifts families, transforms lives and strengthens communities.

“President Nandi-Ndaitwah congratulated and commended the Namibia Grape Company and Capespan for their successful agricultural initiatives that align with the priorities of the Eighth Administration, particularly the drive towards sustainable food systems and socio-economic empowerment,” the Namibian Presidency said.

The President also reiterated that agriculture remains Priority Area 1 under the Sixth National Development Plan (NDP6), forming a key pillar of inclusive economic growth and job creation through value addition.

“The President’s visit reinforces the Government’s strategic commitment to improving livelihoods, strengthening skills transfer, enhancing food security and building national resilience through sustainable agricultural practices,” the Presidency added.
