Africa-Press – Namibia. THE Central Procurement Board of Namibia (CPBN) is cautioning the public against an advert circulating on social media inviting bidders for a bid titled “Procurement for Construction of 1 500 houses outside Luderitz town on behalf of Luderitz Regional Council.
Johanna Kambala (CPRP) spokesperson said that the advert requires bidders to pay an amount of N$15,000 for the bidding document into a certain bank account (this amount is beyond the maximum amount of N$6,000 to be charged by public entities for bidding documents as prescribed by the Public Procurement Regulations as amended, Regulation 33A).
“CPBN wishes to caution the public that the advert in question is a scam as no such bid was issued by CPBN in the market. Furthermore, the public is informed that all bids issued by CPBN are published on CPBN website (https://www.cpbn.com.na/) or in newspapers, should they wish to verify the legitimacy of an advertised bid. The public is cautioned not to fall victim of such scams,” Kambala concluded.
