Africa-Press – Namibia. Deputy education minister Dino Ballotti officially opened the Victoria Private School at Dordabis on Monday.
He encouraged the first batch of learners to take their studies seriously.
The school’s establishment was made possible by an investment of N$40 million by Russian investor Rashid Sardarov, who owns the Marula Game Ranch.
The school, which will be free of charge, will cost Sardorav N$20 million annually for operations.
It was designed to accommodate 200 learners from pre-primary to grade 7.
The school has hostel facilities for 120 learners.
In line with the school’s founding vision of uplifting the community, tuition and hostel accommodation will be offered free of charge.
“I encourage you to approach your studies with diligence and enthusiasm, appreciate the diverse viewpoints of your classmates, and develop not only your intellect but also your character and sense of social responsibility,” Ballotti said in his statement.
He expressed gratitude to supporters, community leaders and educators for their role in bringing the Victoria Private School project to life.
The school is set to welcome its inaugural cohort of 80 learners at the start of the second semester in July.
