Africa-Press – Namibia. THE Zambezi regional police have arrested six people suspected of taking part in an armed robbery.
The group allegedly stole cash at a service station on Sunday night. Police spokesperson inspector Kisco Sitali confirmed the incident on Monday, saying the value of the cash is still unknown.
“The suspects, all Namibians, are being interrogated. Detailed information will follow once suspects are charged,” he said. Sitali said the suspects could be facing charges of armed robbery and the possession of firearms without a licence.
This is the second case of armed robbery reported in the region over the weekend, as two Chinese businessmen were attacked and shot at their shop on Saturday. Sitali said the arrested suspects could be linked to the robbery of the Chinese businessmen.
