Africa-Press – Namibia. RichAfrica Consultancy is getting set to host the highly anticipated 6th Namibia International Energy Conference, scheduled for 23 to 25 April 2024 at the Droombos Estate in Windhoek. This annual gathering serves as a pivotal platform for key stakeholders within the energy sector to convene and chart the course towards an aptly titled theme of ‘Reimagine Resource-Rich Namibia: Turning Possibilities into Prosperity.’

Notable guests, industry experts, and policymakers are expected to engage in dynamic debates, dialogues, and collaborative initiatives aimed at fostering sustainable development and driving economic prosperity, not only for Namibia but for the entire continent.

“Our theme underscores the collective ambition to harness Namibia’s abundant natural resources for tangible, inclusive growth, moving beyond potential towards sustainable prosperity. There has never been a better time for media professionals to access first-hand insights into the future trajectory of energy in Namibia and across Africa. With the participation of esteemed delegates from both public and private sectors, including a ministerial panel featuring the esteemed Honourable Minister of Mines and Energy, Tom Alweendo, attendees can expect enlightening discussions and impactful networking opportunities,” read a statement from the conference organisers.

Sapphire sponsors, RMB, Chevron and Shell are also set to share their thoughts and insights during the opening of the conference.

Last week organisers confirmed the attendance of Haitham Al Ghais, Secretary General (SG) of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), who is expected to deliver an address and share insight into global oil trends at the conference.

This is as Namibia is on track to produce its first oil from offshore discoveries by 2030 and the country is getting ready to take on a more prominent role in global supply chains. Offshore discoveries and onshore exploration efforts are expected to transform the domestic economy while establishing new export chains for both regional and international consumers. During NIEC 2024, the OPEC delegation is scheduled to present the organisation’s World Oil Outlook, sharing insight into ongoing developments, future expectations, and efforts to create market stability.
