Africa-Press – Nigeria. The All Progressives Congress, APC, National Youth Wing has accused Governor Dauda Lawal of “squandering public resources on political vendettas,” alleging that his administration has failed to address insecurity and infrastructure decay in Zamfara State.
In a statement issued on Sunday and signed by its National Youth Leader, Comrade Danjuma Nuhu, the APC National Youth Wing said Governor Lawal’s administration “has been defined by failure.”
“His reckless spending on futile political pursuits could not hide his incompetence. Zamfara deserves better,” Nuhu said.
Daily Post gathered that the accusation followed the defection of Hon. Muhammad Lawal Kuryar Madaro, former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate for the Kaura Namoda South State House of Assembly, who announced his defection to the APC in Gusau on Saturday during the stakeholders’ consultation meeting for Zamfara Central.
Kurya’s defection came after his defeat in the August supplementary election, where the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared APC’s Kamilu Sa’idu winner of the Kaura Namoda South constituency seat.
The APC Youth Wing further called on other PDP members “disillusioned with Governor Lawal’s administration” to join the APC and support the party’s agenda for stability and development.
