Africa-Press – Nigeria. The Yola Division of the Court of Appeal on Monday affirmed the election of the member representing Ganye Constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Misa Musa Jauro.
Jauro was, in August 2025, declared the winner of the Ganye Assembly by-election, which he contested under the All Progressives Congress (APC). However, he was challenged by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the election, Buba Mohammed Joda, who asked the court to nullify Jauro’s victory over allegations of over-voting.
The Court of Appeal, sitting in Yola on Monday, affirmed the APC lawmaker’s election and dismissed the appeal filed by the PDP candidate.
The court upheld the judgment of the Election Petition Tribunal in Yola, which on February 4 struck out the petition against Jauro.
Delivering the ruling on the appeal, Justice Patricia Ajuma Mahmoud dismissed the appeal for lack of merit and awarded the sum of N3 million in favour of the 1st and 2nd respondents against the appellants.
The ruling of the Court of Appeal brings to an end the protracted legal battle over the Ganye Constituency seat in the Adamawa State House of Assembly.
