Africa-Press – Nigeria. Bashir Ahmad, former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, has expressed optimism that Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State is likely to join the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the coming weeks.
Ahmad made the statement in a post on his verified X handle on Sunday.
“I can reliably confirm that the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, will be joining our great party, the APC in the coming weeks,” he wrote.
Kano was previously an APC state under Umar Ganduje before Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, won the 2023 governorship election in the state.
Since his resumption of office as governor, Yusuf has reportedly not maintained a cordial relationship with his predecessor, Ganduje.
