Africa-Press – Nigeria. Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, says the easiest way to make money from the Rivers State Government is by publicly abusing him.
Wike made the remark on Saturday during a briefing with stakeholders from Ahoada East and Ahoada West LGAs.
The briefing took place shortly after the annual thanksgiving ceremony of the Chairman of the South-South Development Forum and former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chibudom Nwuche.
The event was held at Nwuche’s hometown, Ochigba community in Ahoada East LGA.
The minister said Rivers State has long been regarded as a cash cow in Nigerian politics.
“How you can make money from Rivers State is that you go and say, ‘enough is enough for Wike’ ‘We will deal with Wike,’ and they drop.
“If you don’t say you will deal with Wike, you won’t get.
“So, if you want to get something now, I hear we have about N600 billion. So the best thing you will do, don’t worry, Wike’s own is too much. We will deal with him. Enough is enough. The moment you pronounce that word. Something will come down.”
The thanksgiving ceremony and briefing was attended by several political heavyweights, including Senator Magnus Abe, Senator Philip Aduda, Senator Wilson Ake and Senator Olaka Wogu.
The meeting was also attended by members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the All Progressives Congress APC, in Ahoada East and Ahoada West LGAs.
