Africa-Press – Nigeria. The Adamawa State Government has announced a temporary shutdown of an iconic road junction in Yola for a crossover concert.

The concert is scheduled for the night of Wednesday, December 31, 2025, till the early hours of Thursday, January 1, 2026.

The government said in a public notice on Sunday that the Unity Flyover in Jimeta will be shut effective Monday, December 29, 2025 to the morning of January 1, 2026, so that preparation for the concert and the conduct of the concert itself can go on without hindrance.

The Unity Flyover & Bridge in Jimeta is a famous road junction that admits vehicular traffic from four different parts of the capital city. It is clearly one of the busiest road junctions in the city.

The state government has hosted musical concerts annually to mark the end of the year and the New Year since the coming of Ahmadu Fintiri as governor.

The state Commissioner for Works and Energy Development, Adamu Atiku who is also the Chairman, 2025 Crossover Committee, said in a notice he signed and released on Sunday afternoon that there will be temporary closure of the Unity Flyover Bridge in preparation for the 2025 Crossover activities.

“The closure will commence on Monday, 29th December and will remain in effect until Wednesday, 1st January,” he stated, advising motorists and commuters to make use of alternative routes during this period.

“We sincerely regret any inconvenience this temporary closure may cause and appreciate the understanding and cooperation of the public,” Adamu Atiku stated.

Notable local and national musical figures are expected to perform at the Unity Concert which Governor Fintiri is also expected to attend.
