Africa-Press – Nigeria. The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi on Wednesday disclosed that President Bola Tinubu’s support has helped his ministry in moving forward in the construction of roads and bridges.
Umahi said Tinubu has never sent any contractor to him to award contracts to, stressing that the president has been very committed.
The Minister disclosed this while defending his ministry’s 2026 budget at the National Assembly.
He said: “I thank my boss Mr president which has helped our ministry in moving the bridges and infrascture forward.
“Let me vow and say that, you know, I can put, you know, 90% of my time and efforts because of who Mr. President is, because of the kind of support, because of the kind of commitment.
“I appreciate so deeply working with him and it makes life very easy, he has never sent a contractor to us. He has never asked us to give this contractor this price.
“Every pricing is very high and I appreciate him and I want to say that we walk with courage and we don’t work with fear, we report to God almighty, to the people and to Mr president and of course to you our headmasters.
“I remain grateful to the Senate president, the honorable speaker of the House of Representatives, my two works chairmen of National Assembly, and the distinguished members of National Assembly committees of works. The entire federal minister of work team is grateful to you.”
