Africa-Press – Nigeria. Ralphs Okey Nwosu, former National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has disclosed that officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were actively involved in the processes that produced the party’s current leadership led by David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola.
Speaking with Arise Television, Nwosu said he found recent developments within the electoral body surprising, given his long-standing experience working with both party structures and INEC.
“I have worked within party processes, party leadership, and INEC for almost twenty years, and INEC has never done something this scandalous,” he said.
He maintained that INEC officials were present throughout the procedures that led to the emergence of the new leadership.
“All the processes that brought about David Mark and Aregbesola and the new leadership, INEC was there. INEC members were there; they witnessed all the processes,” Nwosu stated.
According to him, the electoral body not only observed but also provided guidance during the process.
“They were part of it and they were helpful also because, before we did anything, we went to them: ‘this is what we want to do,’ they would advise because they wanted all the parties to succeed,” he added.
