Africa-Press – Nigeria. Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has assured that the state will deliver one million votes to President Bola Tinubu, especially now that the state is more united than before.
He also assured those skeptical about joining the APC from the PDP to be patient, saying “time will reveal everything to the fearful”.
Mutfwang stated this while receiving his membership card of the All Progressives Congress(APC), in Jos, the State Capital on Friday.
He said, “One of the things I have dreamt about, one of the things I have pursued is that Plateau may be united.
“If indeed you are in love with Plateau, you’re my brother; and today, I’m beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
“I’m beginning to see that the building blocks of unity that we have been holding, that finally
we are getting to put them together, and let’s have a united Plateau.
“today, what I’m seeing is that a new party has been born, the Plateau Peoples Party, but riding on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, and that together, we will pursue the cause of Plateau” he maintained.
Speaking further, Mutfwang said, “I know there are skeptics; to the skeptics, I say be patient. Time will reveal everything to the fearful.
“I said, take courage, the journey we are embarking on is a journey of faith, and God is a rewarder of them that trust him, I believe that Plateau will reap the dividend of this union”, he admonished.
“today, it has pleased God to bring us together. Plateau is bigger than all of us? And today, we are laying the foundation for a new Plateau, the Plateau where acrimony is reduced to the barest minimum”, he explained.
“A Plateau where we recognise the place of God in establishing leadership. And I tell you that all of us that are seated here this afternoon, we could not have sat here except God ordained it.
“And for those I’m leaving behind in PDP, they are not my enemies. They are my friends and my brothers; and I believe even in the journey to 2027, they may not be happy that I left, but I know they are committed to the project we started together”.
On his relationship with President Tinubu, the Governor said, “One thing I declare to Mr President, when I first met him on the third of June, 2023, I assured him that I am committed to his presidency, and I’m committed to his re election.
“But I know his determination to make sure he fixes the challenges of Nigeria, and I’m ready to embark on that journey with him.
“I believe that the step I’m taking today that my counsel to him would no longer be taken as that of an outsider, but that now I’m an insider. And my desire is to make sure that where conversations are being held about national development, that plateau is well represented.
“I look forward to having one of the most peaceful elections in the history of Plateau State in 2027, and together, as we join hands, I’m confident that we can deliver a million votes for Mr President”, he stressed.
