Osun APC Unveils Strategy for Million Votes for Tinubu

Africa-Press – Nigeria. Leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun State have unveiled a mobilisation strategy aimed at significantly boosting President Bola Tinubu’s support base ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The plan was outlined in Osogbo on Tuesday during the inauguration of Local Government Ambassadors for the Renewed Hope initiative, a political and policy platform associated with the President’s administration.

Speaking at the event, the Osun State Ambassador of Renewed Hope, Sunday Akere, said the party was positioning itself to secure up to one million votes for President Tinubu from the state in the next presidential poll.

Akere noted that Osun currently has close to two million registered voters, stressing that voter turnout in previous elections had fallen well below its potential.

“We are not looking at anything less than one million votes for the President in Osun. With almost two million registered voters, it is unacceptable that fewer than 500,000 people usually participate in elections,” he said.

He explained that the newly inaugurated Local Government Ambassadors would play a central role in reversing voter apathy through extensive grassroots engagement across the state.

According to him, “Their responsibility is to go into communities, mobilise residents, carry out outreach programmes, and engage directly with the people so that Osun can deliver at least one million votes.”

Akere added that the ambassadors had been given clear timelines, including a mandate to ensure victory for the APC’s candidate in the forthcoming governorship election.

“Their first task is that by August 8, 2026, they must deliver our governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji,” he stated.

Beyond electoral targets, Akere said the ambassadors were also expected to sensitise party members and the wider public on federal government policies under the Renewed Hope agenda.

“They must let everyone know, members and non-members alike, the achievements of President Tinubu’s administration,” he said.

The event drew prominent APC figures, including the South West Zonal Ambassador of Renewed Hope, Senator Dayo Adeyeye, and the Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor, Tayo Ayinde.

Addressing the gathering, APC governorship candidate Bola Oyebamiji urged the ambassadors to demonstrate commitment in securing victories for the party at both state and national levels.

Oyebamiji also called on residents to take advantage of the ongoing voter registration exercise, while encouraging party members to participate actively in APC membership registration.

In his remarks, Senator Adeyeye emphasised the importance of unity and dedication among party stakeholders in Osun State.

He said, “All APC members must continue to sensitise Nigerians on federal government initiatives designed to improve living standards.”
