Africa-Press – Nigeria. A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Katsina State, Hon. Abdulaziz Maituraka, has criticized opposition leaders for politicizing security issues in the state.
Speaking at a meeting with APC supporters over the weekend, Maituraka said it was unfair for the opposition to blame the state government for security challenges that existed before the current administration.
He noted that security is primarily a federal responsibility, with state governments playing a supportive role, and said the situation in Katsina has improved compared to previous years.
“Some of those now criticizing this government on security matters were once in government themselves. My advice to such people is to stop politicizing insecurity. The state government is working with relevant stakeholders to address the situation,” he said.
Maituraka also called on APC members to obtain their voter cards and actively participate in promoting the party’s policies ahead of upcoming elections.
