Africa-Press – Nigeria. Fulham will cope with the absence of their Nigerian stars during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, according to Calvin Bassey.
Bassey, Alex Iwobi and Samuel Chukwueze left England on Sunday to link up with their international teammates after Fulham’s 3-2 win over Burnley at the Turf Moor on Saturday night.
The trio could be away for up to one month depending on how Nigeria progresses in Morocco.
They all started the clash against Burnley with Bassey and Chukwueze playing 90 minutes, while Iwobi featured for 79 minutes.
Centre-back Bassey scored the Whites second goal, his first of the campaign.
“We just try to give our best and we’re fortunate to be playing,” Bassey said after the game.
“If you see our squad, you’d know we have amazing players. We’ll be missed, but they’ll be fine.”
