Africa-Press – Rwanda. American point guard Chad Bowie has rejoined Rwanda Basketball League (RBL) side Kepler Basketball on a one-year deal.
Bowie had spent several months playing for Ugandan powerhouse City Oilers and helped them reach the final series of the Ugandan league playoffs, despite losing the trophy to bitter rivals Nam Blazers.
The 29-year-old, who is expected to rejoin Kepler on December 1, is the son of former Orlando Magic shooting guard Anthony Lee Bowie.
At Kepler, he has been one of the most important players, fuelling the team’s competitiveness in the league. In 2024, he had an impressive season in which he finished as the top scorer with 410 points. He also made 62 steals on top of being the third best three-point shooter with 54 points scored from three pointers.
Last week, Kepler Basketball also announced the signing of Kenny Manzi, an Australia-based Rwandan guard who is currently in the national team camp preparing for the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers scheduled to take place in Tunisia from November 27 to 30.
In addition, Jabs Newby, a Jamaican-Canadian point guard with experience in Canada’s top flight league, has also joined the club.
