Africa-Press – Rwanda. DR Congo’s Minister of Justice Constant Mutamba has resigned after the country’s parliament authorised legal proceedings against him over embezzlement allegations.

Mutamba submitted his resignation letter to President Felix Tshisekedi on Tuesday, June 17, local media reported.

After the National Assembly stripped him of immunity on Sunday, Mutamba was placed under travel restrictions announced by the Prosecutor General on Monday.

The member of Prime Minister Judith Suminwa’s government is accused of mismanaging $19 million meant for the construction of a prison in Kisangani, Tshopo province.
