Africa-Press – Rwanda. match against Sudanese side Al Hilal SC.

Kwizera, who returns to the national team fold after four years, is part of Adel Amrouche’s 25-man squad which enters the camp on Wednesday, November 12. The team will have four days undergoing technical assessment until November 16 before they take on Al Hilal who are preparing for the CAF Champions League group stage match against MC Alger in Kigali on November 21.

Al Hilal became Amavubi’s last choice after efforts to secure international friendlies against Senegal and Comoros fell through.

Kwizera, 29, became a free agent after parting ways with Saudi Arabian club Al-Kawkabat the end of the season. His last international call up was in June 2022 and he will now be vying for a spot in the posts against Pierre Ishimwe of APR FC and Patience Niyongira of Police FC.

The selected squad comprises only local players who have been in impressive form during the Rwanda Premier League lately.

Amrouche also handed debut call up in the senior national team to Rayon Sports youngster Jesus Paul Sindi who has been impressive in the league so far this season. Sindi is the only Blues player selected to Amavubi squad while APR FC records the highest representation with seven players, followed by Police FC and Kiyovu SC who have four players each.

There is, however, no Lague Byiringiro in the squad, with the winger currently suspended by Police FC over misconduct.
