Africa-Press – Rwanda. Rayon Sports and its long-time sponsor SKOL Brewery Ltd have unveiled plans for Rayon Week, a five-day fan-centred campaign that will climax with Rayon Sports Day also known as “Umunsi w’Igikundiro” on August 15 at Amahoro Stadium.
The announcement was made on Thursday at SKOL’s headquarters in Nzove during a joint press event attended by officials from both Rayon Sports and SKOL.
It was also graced by artists Kenny Sol and Zéo Trap, along with DJs Anita Pendo and Bisoso, who will entertain fans throughout the celebrations.

Speaking at the event, Rayon Sports president Thaddée Twagirayezu said the campaign will feature a variety of activities across the country, including friendly matches and community engagement.
The week will culminate in a high-profile friendly against Tanzanian giants Yanga SC at the newly renovated Amahoro Stadium.
Yanga SC is expected to arrive in Rwanda on August 11 and will join Rayon Sports in several planned activities, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial. The match between the two sides is set to headline the final day of the celebration.
Throughout the week, Rayon Sports will play three friendly matches in different parts of the country. These will be held in Nyanza against Gasogi United, in Ngoma against Gorilla FC, and in Rubavu against Etincelles FC.
Twagirayezu noted that the team is being rebuilt with new, talented signings and assured supporters that the squad’s strength will be evident during the match against Yanga SC.
“We are bringing in quality players. Rayon Sports is already one of Africa’s most respected clubs, and our fans will see that reflected on the pitch,” he said.
He also revealed that new kits for both players and fans are expected to arrive in Rwanda on August 1 and will be available for purchase the same day.

“This is more than a sponsorship; it’s like a marriage. We recently increased our financial contribution to Rayon Sports by Rwf 20 million and will continue to support the club as it strives for success,” he said.
As part of Rayon Week, SKOL will also launch a promotional campaign through its SKOL Lager brand. Fans will have the chance to win club jerseys and tickets to attend Rayon Sports Day through a special raffle.
