Africa-Press – Rwanda. Top boxers from seven countries are set to meet in Kigali for the inaugural Kigali Fight Night, scheduled to take place at Zaria Court on November 8.

The event, which follows the recent Professional Fighters League (PFL) showcase, aims to highlight the beauty and growth of martial arts across the African continent.

Organised by Silver Black Sport in collaboration with the Rwanda Boxing Federation, the one-day boxing event will feature top fighters from Nigeria, Tanzania, Cameroon, Gabon, Kenya, DR Congo, and host nation Rwanda, bringing together regional boxing talent under one roof.

The night will feature seven professional bouts and five amateur bouts, giving a platform to emerging Rwandan boxers to display their skills.

The main event of the Kigali Fight Night will see Cameroonian fighter Tamba Merlin go head-to-head with Jonathan Katompa from DR Congo in what promises to be an electrifying showdown between two of Central Africa’s most skilled boxers.

In another anticipated clash, Jerry Katamba Kabango of the DR Congo will square off against Tanzania’s Ally Mwerangi, a bout expected to showcase speed and tactical precision from both fighters.

Kassa Ningbo Odilon Hans from Gabon will look to make his mark when he meets Alphonce Joseph Masumbuko of Tanzania, a matchup predicted to deliver high intensity as both boxers are known for their aggressive styles.

Nigeria’s David Segun Akintola will face Aziz Waziri Uliza of Tanzania in a test of endurance and striking power, while his compatriot Precious Iyabo Anine will battle Flora Paulo Machela, also from Tanzania, in the women’s division.

Adding to the night’s excitement, Daniella Muleketsi Nsii of DR Congo will take on Kenya’s Charity Mukami Mutwiri, promising an action-packed bout between two rising female fighters.

Rwanda’s Frank Kazungu will carry the host nation’s hopes as he steps into the ring against Mavoungou Mboko Mohamed from Gabon, a match expected to draw loud cheers from the home crowd.
