Africa-Press – Rwanda. Tanzanian champions Young Africans arrived in Kigali on Wednesday, August 13, ahead of Rayon Day fiesta where they will face Rayon Sports in international club friendly match at Amahoro Stadium on Friday, August 15.

The traditional Rayon Day celebration will culminate with the highly anticipated friendly match between the Blues and Young Africans after a weeklong tour of friendlies with various teams across the country.

The first contingent travelled to Kigali led by club president Hersi Said and all top players such as captain Bakari Nondo Mwamnyeto, Pacôme Zouzoua, Djigui Diarra and Maxi Nzengeli among others.

They were received by Rayon Sports president Thaddée Twagirayezu.

“We are here to celebrate friendship. It will be an exciting game with many innovations and fans will come in large numbers,” Twagirayezu said.

Young Africans will, among other activities, visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial to pay tribute to the victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi laid to rest at the site as well as help the needy.

Rayon Day is an annual event where Rayon Sports present players who will be used in the coming season. The club invites teams, local or foreign, for a friendly match to make the celebrations worthwhile.
