Africa-Press – Rwanda. Ambassador of Rwanda to Ethiopia, Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Charles Karamba encouraged Ethiopian investors to invest in Rwanda’s fast-growing sectors, and emphasised the two countries’ bilateral ties that strengthen cooperation in trade, health, agriculture, energy, sports, and culture.

The ambassador was speaking at the 3rd edition of the Africa Business Link Forum, organized by the Embassy of Rwanda in Ethiopia in collaboration with Queen Nyabinghi East Africa and Bridge Investment Consultancy on Thursday, May 15.

The event brought together Ethiopian CEOs, founders, company directors, service providers, and private sector, aiming to continuously foster strong investment ties between Rwanda and Ethiopian business community while offering a strategic platform to explore investment opportunities in Rwanda’s fast growing sectors such as tourism, real estate, ICT, and energy and manufacturing.

“This Business Forum aims at showcasing investment opportunities available in Rwanda and facilitating close collaboration of our business communities. It reflects the high value we place on people-to-people and business-to-business engagement between our countries,” Karamba said.

According to the press statement, a key announcement of the forum was the upcoming business study tour to Rwanda in September or October 2025, allowing Ethiopian investors to explore Rwanda’s business environment firsthand and meet local entrepreneurs.

Karamba highlighted Rwanda’s rapid transformation and economic growth, citing the 2024 economic growth of 8.9 percent.

He noted that this performance was driven by sectors like services, industry, and agriculture, pointing out that such a growth momentum creates fertile ground for Ethiopian investors seeking impactful and profitable ventures.

Appealing to the investors, the ambassador outlined key reasons to invest in Rwanda, including Political stability and visionary leadership, strategically developed Special Economic Zones, strong infrastructure and regional market access, and A growing middle class with increasing consumer needs.

Karamba added that investing in Rwanda would give Ethiopian investors access to the East African Community(EAC) and Economic Community of Central African States(ECCAS) markets, benefiting from a regional population of over 400 million.

“The demand for hospitality and accommodation facilities is rising, presenting a chance for real estate investors to tap into the hospitality sector,” Karamba added, emphasizing an increase in international attention for Rwanda’s tourism, mining, health, energy, and sports sectors.
