Africa-Press – Rwanda. Customers who purchase a Toyota vehicle will automatically receive insurance coverage from Mayfair Insurance Rwanda, through a partnership between MIR and Toyota Rwanda. The agreement, which will eliminate the need for separate arrangements, was signed on September 17 at Toyota Rwanda’s showroom in Kigali.

The collaboration is designed to simplify the car ownership process by bundling vehicle purchase and insurance into one seamless transaction.

With a focus on enhancing customer experience, improving safety, and increasing accessibility to reliable insurance, this partnership marks a major step forward for Mayfair in expanding its footprint within Rwanda’s automotive sector.

In her remarks, Jessica Igoma, Managing Director of Mayfair Insurance Rwanda, addressed the complexity of traditional insurance processes, sharing her personal experience of how difficult it can be to understand insurance documents.

“Even for myself, it was a nightmare, and I believe this partnership is going to simplify that process for the customers,” she said.

Igoma explained that the deal goes beyond just bundling insurance with cars—it’s about delivering confidence, safety, and trust. The partnership, she added, is designed to enhance customer experience, improve safety and reliability, and increase convenience and accessibility for all clients.

“Before I finish, of course, I have to thank both teams for making the vision a reality and expressing optimism about the road ahead.”

Managing Director of Toyota Rwanda, Nenad Predrevac, highlighted the broader strategy behind collaboration, noting that insurance is a natural extension of car sales. He shared insights into Toyota Rwanda’s evolving value chain, including recent efforts to improve the pre-sale experience by registering new cars specifically for test drives.

“Sales is just one point,” he said, “but to that we need to add insurance, finance, and even test-drive services.”

Predrevac also revealed plans for a future trade-in programme, where customers can exchange older Toyotas for newer models—another step where insurance remains essential.

“This partnership with Mayfair is one piece of a much larger plan to offer full service to our customers. Today we celebrate a product that delivers value, and tomorrow we’ll build on this foundation,” he added.

Benson Kamau, General Manager of Mayfair Insurance, explained that the partnership with Toyota is designed around three priorities: giving customers the confidence of leaving the showroom not only with a new car but also with reliable insurance, reinforcing safety and trust on every journey, and making the process more convenient by bringing two essential services under one roof.

“This partnership is about making car ownership easier and safer. Our goal is to ensure that every Toyota client drives away with both a new vehicle and the peace of mind that comes with dependable insurance protection, while also simplifying access by combining everything in one place,” he noted.
