Alice Uwase Appointed New Mining Board CEO

Africa-Press – Rwanda. President Paul Kagame on Friday, July 18 appointed Alice Uwase as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Rwanda Mines, Petroleum and Gas Board (RMB), according to a communique from the Office of the Prime Minister.

Uwase replaces Francis Kamanzi, whom she deputised for over a year, before his new appointment on Wednesday as the Director General of Rwanda Cooperative Agency.

Uwase had served as the Deputy CEO at RMB, from June 2024. Prior to this role, she served as the Head of the Mining, Petroleum, and Gas Exploration Department at the same institution.

Prior to joining RMB, she was the Project Manager of Gold Mining and Trading at Ngali Mining, a subsidiary of Ngali Holdings, which is a Rwandan company investing in a wide range of industries across the continent of Africa.
